Highlands Honeymoon Cottage // Highlands, NC: A modernized, romantic mountain getaway built in the 1940’s (and very instagrammable!) We love the retro-style smeg refrigerator, modern leather sofa and bright airy walls. This cottage was updated in June of 2017 but remains rustic with lux amenities.
Highlander Mountain House // Highlands, NC: Every inch of this recently renovated inn is well thought out! Built in 1885, it stands as it is today for just under a year and is where English charm meets Appalachian architecture. You’ll want to relax for hours on their fabulous red couch next to a wood burning fireplace all day long. They also have a great bar and restaurant, the Ruffed Grouse.

Greystone Inn // Lake Toxaway, NC: If you’re looking for resort-style rooms with stunning lake views, this is the spot! A little bit of a drive, but every bit worth it. They have a spa for adults (and kids!) and many spots to dine.
